Exploring group perception
Exploring group perception
Our perception logs - perceptions - are interconnected by links that cross relate shared action and activity. If we were to view this as a scene from afar what would we see? A sort of tangled set of threads upon a set of warps and indeed it is often referred to symbolically as 'the loom'. It can be traversed in spiritual experience.
We do not have unrestricted access to other people’s perceptions, but our composer will cooperate with other composers where it helps us, or those we are trying to help.
There are essentially two types of traversal of this loom of access paths.
- Follow the cord - One is by following each thread, bridge hopping from one perception log to the next. In this way you can go from one person to a thing and from this thing to an animal, from an animal to a person again and so on, following the trail and reading the perceptions on the way. The effect may seem somewhat confusing, as you might see a snatch of action that was a person's followed by another that was a dog's and another that was that of a tree! Since everything has perceptions, there is really no limit on what can be seen
- Time snatches across the board - Perceptions are a log and are characterised by being increments of action. It is thus possible in theory [and it seems in practise as I have observations that shows this], to 'look' across all the logs and see a sort of composite view of a synchronised moment in 'time'. In some respects this is what an out of body experience is, travel through a synchronised moment in the perception logs, but I have kept out of body separate as a type as this name is used more frequently than 'synchronised travel through perception logs!'
Although I have made it sound as though one has some sort of control over the actions, the traversal is often entirely uncontrolled. Where it is controlled, then the traversal is often based on some keyword or set of keywords that provides the selection criteria. In effect, if we issue a sort of prayer as to what we are interested in, then the composers of each entity will oblige by using the prayer as the selection crieria.

It is worth adding that it is almost impossible to tell whether traversal of perceptions in this way is an exploration of one's own past lives, or a traversal of the entire set of perceptions. Those quick to condemn the people who have experiences where they relive the lives of famous people such as Marie Antoinette, or some other famous person, need to hold their fire, because the interest someone has in a famous person may simply have taken them to the perceptions of this person and indeed they really are reliving a fragment of this famous person's life. The mistake comes when the person then starts to believe that they were once this person.
If the person undergoing the experience is highly emotional and a fragment of a perception of someone else has been laid down with high levels of emotion, the emotion itself could provide the linking mechanism. Fear attracts fear, terror attracts terror, grief attracts grief, passion attracts passion, uncontrollable lust attracts uncontrollable lust .....
The Diamond Sutra - Shakyamuni Buddha
The Buddha told Subhuti ‘The many mental states of the many beings in the many lands are all known to the Realised One. What is the reason? The Realised One says that those minds are not mind, they are called mind’
