Some science behind the scenes
Sacred geography - bridges
Physical bridges take on the symbolism of bridges. Numerous bridges exist which have no obvious use other than to link sacred places. Any bridge - physical bridge - that lies on a straight path and links sacred places is thus a potential part of the sacred geography.
You often find such bridges duplicating one another - two bridges for example or even more - over a river or stream but almost side by side, this is a very clear indicator of the sacred nature of the bridge.
An arched shape often also indicates a sacred bridge, as it mirrors the shape of the Egg - a symbolic reference to a link to the wider spiritual world.
