Templates

There are three types of template.

The first template is the ‘master’ template for a species or class of thing. If you glance at the Intelligence hierarchy, you will see that only the bottom of the hierarchy can create implemented copies of itself as form thus it is only at this bottom level that a template will be found. A set of functions – a system for the class of spirit entity thus also has a template associated with it. For example, the species ‘Border collie’ with all the functions of the border collie will also have a template showing what border collies should look like in a generic way.

The second template is the master template for each copy of that class of thing. Thus to continue the example, there may be a specific border collie called ‘Flossie’ and she will have her own template showing how she is to grow and develop. Note that DNA helps here because the software related to the template can be constructed from the bill of materials found in the DNA passed from the parents. This is essentially how she should look.

The third template is how the thing actually does look, in effect it is a reflection of the ravages that have occurred on the form by use. When any healing or mending takes place, the mending software of the body uses the second template to try to repair the body – the form – as best it can, given the state it really is in. Thus poor little Flossie, who has perhaps broken her leg by falling in a ditch whilst rounding up sheep, will be confined to her kennel and the healing software in her body will repair the leg using the second template as the pattern.
