The Boy who saw True- July 20th
I saw grandpa to-day, and he told me they (the spirits) had got papa to find Mr. Patmore for my tutor, and that they were very pleased with the way I was getting on. Grandpa said heaven isn't a bit like what people think, and it's much nicer. He told me that by and by crowds of people will believe in the spirits, something like they believe in Jesus now, and they'll all be much happier and won't mind such a lot about death.
I asked him (formulated the question mentally) if people stayed old in heaven when they had died old? And he laughed and said, no. He told me that where he was, people could make themselves look just as they wanted to look. If they liked to think of themselves looking young, they look young, and the other way round too.
He says he makes himself look old when he comes to see me, because if he didn't I wouldn't be able to know him.
