Symbols - What does heaven look like
Blood
One of the ways in which Spirit input is symbolically represented is blood.
The use of blood as symbolic spiritual input is quite apt. Blood is regarded as the key to life, the source of energy pulsing round our bodies. As such the spiritual input of life, health, wisdom and so on is a ‘life giver’ much like blood.
I noticed in western interpretations that many people seem to think there is some gruesome aspect to the use of blood as a symbol and assume some sort of orgy of blood drinking in a literal interpretation of the symbolism. It may have occurred in primitive societies where the symbolism had been lost, but was not at all evident to me in all the sources I used which were fully conversant with the symbolism being used.
