Introduction and description
Spiritual experience can be induced by resonance of the body. I have given this the generic heading ‘stimulation via resonance’ and a full explanation is provided in this section of how it works.
Stimulation of the body can be by sound [which is essentially mechanical in its effect], by mechanical means such as physical shaking or battering or it can be by magnetic forces which induce an electrical current in the body, or they can be electrical forces in their own right – like telluric currents. All sources of energy – mechanical, electrical, magnetic, and so on – can potentially produce resonance.
In a number of the other sections on stimulation of the body via resonance, the emphasis is on artificially produced sources of very specific frequencies, things like power lines and electric fans or wind turbines, or certain sorts of machinery, but there is such a thing as resonance induced by natural phenomena.
The frequencies these natural phenomena produce can vary considerably and many of the events do not last long enough to have any effect spiritually, however, occasionally a spiritual experience is invoked and often causes complete confusion because there is no obvious source or rationale behind the vision or hallucination experienced.
The main natural sources of resonance in all its forms that I found observations for include the
following, all of which have an entry in the science section
- Storms and Thunder
- Storm waves and surf
- Avalanches
- Geomagnetic hot spots
- Auroras
- Earthquakes
- Volcanoes
- Bolides - An especially bright meteor
Note that Sun spot activity – especially high sun spot activity - produces both magnetic fields and telluric currents

Naturally occurring sources of infrasound include (but are not limited to) severe weather, volcanoes, bolides, earthquakes, surf, waves, and .... nonlinear ocean wave interactions..
Many of these produce infrasound and this appears to produce very specific experiences, often, it has to be said, somewhat negative. It is possible that the lower the frequency, the more likely it is that certain organs of the brain are resonated. The organs in the brain include organs like the amygdala and they are the seat of emotion, thus the ‘wrong’ frequency can trigger all sorts of possibly unwanted emotions. But the organs of the brain can be all sorts of sizes in people as such one person may get a sudden flood of past perceptions and another person a sense of appalling doom!
