Symbols - What does heaven look like
Ear piercing
An outward sign of a shaman having been initiated. When the shaman goes through the rebirth process, he often experiences a visionary ‘piercing’ of ears that signifies he or she can now ‘hear’ the spirits in the spiritual world. Thus ear piercing is a physical manifestation that the shaman is able to communicate with spirit beings.
