Emotions are the output of the function of Emotion . It is a 'data store' of the Mind - see the Model of the Mind
The dictionary definition of emotion says it is ……….
“A mental state that arises spontaneously rather than through conscious effort and is often accompanied by physiological changes; a feeling”
