After her husband's death, Lady Doyle, wife of the famous creator of Sherlock Holmes, experienced [a spiritual experience] when dangerously ill. She seemed to travel to a region of 'light and calm, the portals of a marvellous world'. There she saw her beloved husband with another figure, both of them happy and loving, and showing her a wonderful life awaiting her there; but she remembered her three children and decided to go back to them instead.
