Symbols - What does heaven look like

Caterpillar or centipede

Symbolically this can have numerous meanings. It can simply represent ‘industry’ by its many legs - or many hands make light work

But it can also be a symbolic reference to the spine in spiritual experience. There is then a link with the butterfly, which also is a symbol of spiritual experience.  Whereas the butterfly is one who has been enlightened, the caterpillar is the stage before enlightenment.

Symbolically the person goes into the stage of the chrysalis – a form of hibernation whilst the necessary energy builds, then the chrysalis ‘breaks’ and the butterfly of the spirit breaks free.
