Heavy machinery

Introduction and description
Numerous types of heavy machinery and equipment have produced hallucinations and visions. I found observations for tractors, air conditioning equipment, electric fans, airplanes, cars, manufacturing plant, plus many other types of equipment. The link in each case was that they produced infrasound as they vibrated.
Infrasound exposure is not uncommon in the vicinity of operating heavy machinery. In a Finnish survey of industrial work sites, infrasound pressure levels usually ranged from 80 to 100 dB, significantly higher than in the vicinity of the workplace. Highest infrasound levels were produced by blowers, pumps, oil burners, air compressors, drying towers, and heavy rotating machinery. The highest level (127 dB) was measured 100 m from a crusher at a mine.
Infrasound resonates organs. It can resonate the organs of the brain and certain organs of the body – usually those that regulate our system such as the thyroid glands. It can cause hallucinations or illness, the illness is the most prevalent condition. Whether someone is ill or not depends on the size of their organs, one person may get an hallucination another may not, one person may become ill another not, thus any research into the area is fraught with difficulties. The exposure time and the intensity determine the effects
Background
All sorts of equipment and machinery from cars to electric fans can vibrate and produce infrasound. When a person feels sick in a car, it might be because of the infrasound being generated, not the actual motion sickness. Airplanes can generate infrasound.
Infrasound can also be produced as a by product of machinery such as diesel engines and by specially designed mechanical transducers (industrial vibration tables). The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization Preparatory Commission uses infrasound as one of its monitoring technologies (along with seismic, hydroacoustic, and atmospheric radionuclide monitoring).
Problems in the town of Kokomo Indiana, for example, a city with heavy industries, was traced to two sources. The first was a pair of fans in a cooling tower at the local DaimlerChrysler casting plant emitting a 36 Hz tone. The second was an air compressor intake at the Haynes International plant emitting a 10 Hz tone.
Occasionally the source can be quite peculiar
The sonic weapon of Vladimir Gavreau - Gerry Vassilatos
Walt Disney and his artists were once made seriously ill when a sound effect, intended for a short cartoon scene, was slowed down several times on a tape machine and amplified through a theater sound system. The original sound source was a soldering iron, whose buzzing 60-cycle tone was lowered five times to 12 cycles. This tone produced a lingering nausea in the crew, which lasted for days.
How it works
Either high or low intensity stimulation.
Observations
In looking at this area I used a few examples gathered by the Society for Psychical Research – a body whose aim is to collect cases of so called ‘psychic occurrences’ – abnormal happenings in reality, and investigate them to see if they can deduce a cause. They have been involving universities in their research for some time and it is the work of the university researchers that I will be using – a collection of scientific and hardened sceptics – absolutely ideal in my opinion for my observations.
