A strange dream this. The predominant motif was grey except that I did not feel it to be a negative dream. I was by the sea again. The sea occurs so often in my dreams it is rather frightening - weird, peculiar. I loved the sea as a child, loved it, always wanted to be by it, always wanted to swim in it, watch it. I was never frightened by it, happy to swim in the most massive of waves and coldest of temperatures, but somehow it has all changed. Now it seems to have taken on a more sinister aspect, a sort of destructive aspect.

In the dream, the waves were relatively calm although there were waves of a sort. No beach, but behind me a long line of huge - truly huge - high cliffs stretching in either direction as far as the you could see. Grey and silvery and totally inaccessible.

I was down at the bottom of these huge cliffs, by the sea which was only separated from the cliffs by rocks in the same silvery stuff as the cliffs. The overall feeling was of a truly inhospitable wild landscape untamed and basic, primitive and primordial. Man had no place here…

Except, there were lots of other ‘people’ if they were people, more or less naked all plunging into the sea which looked extremely uninviting. They walked and swam out through some small breakers looking for something.

The sea was truly odd the way it behaved, it wasn’t water like, it was thick and viscous like a sort of oil slick, though the breakers looked normal. The water was also opaque, totally opaque, a strange dark almost black colour.

But the people kept finding things and I waded out through this thick thick liquid to see what they had discovered and they had discovered crystals. Each one was egg shaped but only half an egg with a pattern like a millefiori glass crystal hundreds and hundreds of beautiful luminescent shining dots of colour. Unsullied by the blackness of the water - quite perfect and luminescent.

And then it ended.
