Background
A description of the experience
Coming down from Chung-nan mountain to the hermit Hu-Szu’s
At dusk I came down from the mountain,
The moon as my companion
And looked behind at the path I had followed
A blue path, blue to the skyline
You took my arm, led me to the refuge
Where small children drew the bamboo curtain.
A hidden path,
with vines that brushed our clothes.
I rejoiced at this place to rest
And there was wine too, good wine
Poured out with you.
Ballads we sang, the wind in the pines
Until, our songs sung
the Milky Way had paled.
I was intoxicated and so were you.
The world forgotten
