The Wisdom of John Pordage [editor Arthur Versluis]
I call the Eternal world the globe of eternity, for so it was when I was taken to have a view of it. In the globe of Eternity, I distinguished three distinct places, which yet make up one undivided globe or sphere. The first of these places was the outward court, the second the inward court and the third as the inward court or the holy place.
My guide first led me into the outward court, where I took notice of two things; the globe, or circumference itself and the second the eye placed in the centre of the globe. This globe is not created by God, but generated out of Himself and is substantial, though a very refined and spiritual substance, for it is the essence of essences, and substance of substances.
The eye in the centre of this globe represents the spirit of eternity, which is God himself, who manifest himself in the centre of the globe as an eye.
