# Form and geometry

Forms have shape and all shapes can be mathematically represented using geometry.

Thus in Spirit terms, all form is constructed from a series of mathematical constructs such as the rhomboid, the triangle, rectangles, polygons, icosahedron, dodecahedrons, pyramids and so on. Some examples follow:

*Icosahedron*

*An icosahedron is a regular polyhedron with 20 identical equilateral triangular*

*faces, 30 edges and 12 vertices. It is one of five Platonic solids.*

Thus we can think of every Form based thing in the universe as being like a little construction that has actually been created in the way a Lego or Meccano model might have been created, from a set of mathematical building blocks that in the end produce the shape required.

If we carry on thinking in these terms, forms are based on Templates and these templates are used to construct actual forms from these mathematical shapes – see also Platonic solids and Crystals.
