Background

A description of the experience

The Reluctant healer – William J Macmillan

During the entire winter, patients continued to come in ever increasing numbers. Rheumatism, the ever-prevalent arthritis, and every kind of complaint responded successfully to the power which came through my hands. It did not occur to me to keep case notes. In fact, there was little to say. I had not the medical knowledge to describe the changes which took place from day to day. If I had kept case histories they would have read only something like this:

"Peter Jones. Arthritis. The affected areas became violently red when I treated. Think he will be a successful patient. Patient had increase of pain and stiffness for the first four days. Both of us alarmed. He decides to continue for another week. The second week the improvement obvious. The redness is changing to a mottled pink. The end of the third week no redness. Patient appears to be cured. Thank Heaven the strain of wondering if he will be cured is over. What a nice man he is."

This pattern of procedure was unchanging regardless of the type of illness. The only variation lay in my reactions
