Chapter 16 QUARTZ

Some time before 1980, two dowsers made a small collection of quartz-bearing stones which included some of the peculiar blue stones from the Preseli Hills in Dyfed (from whence the famous Blue Stone megaliths were quarried and transported over two-hundred miles to be erected in the stone circle at Stonehenge in Wiltshire). They used these pieces of quartz-bearing rock for the purpose of some experiments which involved advanced dowsing techniques. Their results indicated that some kind of power was being radiated from the pieces of stone containing quartz crystals, in narrow rays which seemed to be travelling outwards in straight lines from the sides of the stones at various angles.

These rays of power seemed to vary at different times and, if a stone was either moved around on the place where it stood or was moved to another place, the power rays seemed to change and could not then be detected by the methods used by the two dowsers.

They found these variations frustrating, for no reliable results could be obtained from which any kind of sensible conclusions could be drawn. However, one surprising result was obtained which did seem to be constant. When a small piece of amber was held about 6 inches away from the quartz crystals in the stone, on the line where they had detected one of the narrow power rays being emitted from the stone, it seemed to deflect this power ray in a completely different direction.

In due course they began to realise that the presence of these quartz-bearing stones in the house and their strange experiments were adversely affecting the health of one of the dowsers. So they decided to discontinue the experiments and removed the stones from the house. The health of the affected dowser improved after this had been done.

They had been experimenting with dangerous unknown powers and readers who might try their own lines of research are warned of these potential dangers, for a great deal more should be known about the peculiar properties of quartz before they consider embarking on any similar experiments.
