Summoning
A form of inter composer communication in which a person is able to communicate with animals, insects and birds and bring them to him or her. St Francis was a summoner. Most horse whisperers are summoners.
If there is no communication to bring the animal to the person, animal telepathy is taking place - communication with an animal using pictures and thoughts rather than words, and this can be done remotely or the animal can be near the person. So the difference is really only one of the type of communication taking place
