Symbolically shows the 'killing off' of the ego - within the 'masculine' aspect of soul. Note the colour pink is used here, deliberately, meaning in this context both 'love' and dawn.
The caption says there is a green [or blue] and yellow rock above out of which comes running water = rain = spirit input, having the colour of the sky. This water is intended to revive the Intellect but in a new 'non-egotistical form' - this is represented by the idea of being 'tethered', controlled and subservient to the Higher spirit.
