Since at one particular point in itself the stuff of the universe has an inner face, we are forced to conclude that in its very structure – that is, in every region of space and time – it has this double aspect, just as, for instance, in its very structure it is granular. In all things there is a Within, co-existent with the Without… God at his most vitally active and most incarnate is not remote from us, wholly apart from the sphere of tangible, on the contrary, at every moment he awaits us in the activity, the work to be done, which every moment brings. He is, in a sense, at the point of my pen, my pick, my paintbrush, my needle and my heart
