Love is the Link – Dr Pamela Kircher
One young woman told of an experience that occurred three years previously. She was taking pain pills for a broken arm when she felt faint and nauseated one evening after drinking a couple of beers. Witnesses reported that she had a grand mal seizure immediately thereafter. She doesn't remember the seizure (that is a typical characteristic of a seizure). An ambulance was called, but cardiopulmonary resuscitation was never initiated as she had stopped seizing by the time that the paramedics arrived.
Though she doesn't remember the seizure, she does remember an NDE that occurred during it. She remembers leaving her body and going to a peaceful place where she found herself on a road. As she traveled down the road, she met her mother who had died of alcoholism several years before. She sensed that her mother wished that she had made other choices in her own life, but supported her daughter with unconditional love no matter what choices she might make. Her grandmother who had died was also there to reassure her.
As she told me about the love and peace in that place, her eyes misted over with the remembrance. While she was appreciating her surroundings, which were lit with a soft light, she suddenly found herself slammed back into her body-as if she had been hit on the forehead by some force.
She felt that the experience was a special gift from her mother and grandmother that she needed because she had been living a rebellious and chaotic life.
