The Wisdom of Near-Death Experiences – Dr Penny Sartori

This letter was sent in response to an article in a magazine:

I was very interested in your article because I believe I had an NDE but mine happened to me when I was only five years old, which was 51 years ago! The story was related to me by my mum, who was obviously quite shocked to hear what I had to say at such a young age.

Apparently, I was very ill with complications of scarlet fever. I was unconscious at the time. When I regained consciousness I said to Mum that I had seen a beautiful lady dressed in a long white dress who was floating in front of a very bright 'sunshine' light. She beckoned me with her finger and I was just about to go with her, as asked, when my granddad (who died while I was ill and they hadn't told me because I was so ill) sharply told me to go back.

I didn't see him, he was beyond the light and I heard him. He sounded very stern (which was unusual for him to speak to me like that) so I did as I was told and didn't go. My mum was obviously very upset at this story as she had just lost her father and I was very ill.
