Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

Many indigenous people personify the earth as an entire aggregate and call it the 'Earth Mother'.  The Earth Mother is not the same as the 'Mother' figure [or the moon] who is the partner of the Father [the Sun].  The Earth Mother is Gaia or in this case 'Ma'.

If it can be named as an aggregate, if it has its own systems then it is an Intelligence

A description of the experience

Vusamazulu Credo Mutwa – Zulu Shaman [Dreams, Prophecies and Mysteries]

It was from the still warm ashes of the conflagration that arose the very first Goddess of human shape, All knowing, Omniscient Ninhavavanhu-Ma  or  Ma, as she is called in a thousand tongues all over the Earth.  She is the object of every infant's cry when it feels the cold or the dark, it cries out like that first spark of consciousness alone in the void 'Maaaa!'.  It was she who, at the command of Unkulunkulu … made the Earth firm to stand upon
