A description of the experience

The Reluctant healer – William J Macmillan

…he told me that he had tuberculosis. He said if I would treat him he would find a room for me in the servants' quarters and that he would cancel a reservation so that Joan could have a ground-floor suite. Then and there I had him undress and I treated him to see if he reacted to this method. He did indeed. The affected areas became violently red as I touched him. He was thrilled when I made him get up and look at himself in a mirror.  He could see for himself the pattern of the infection. He got out his Xray pictures. Of course they corresponded exactly with the red patches on his skin produced by the treatment.  It was a deal!
