B J Laubscher – Where Mystery dwells
At times Anna would sense the illnesses of people and she often described people with a colour emanation. One day while sitting in a tearoom a farmer and his family entered and as the buxom mother and several small children passed our table Anna said :
"Oh what a lovely pink colour is oozing from her. That woman has a beautiful mind."
And a few moments later there was Anna talking in the most friendly terms to the lady as if they had known each other all their lives.
When I spoke to her about this later she replied that she could never resist the temptation to talk to people whose colours appealed to her and thus flattered me by saying
"I like you because of your colours."
Her description at the time was a “sort of colour haze" which surrounded each personality. In many cases this was extremely beautiful. Some however were unpleasant and corresponded to their moods and temperaments. She had seen people in their "dorp" going to church in the morning clutching a Bible and hymn books under their arms with colours which showed intense envy, jealousy and hatred.
I learned a great deal from Anna and when I left for Scotland to study medicine she told me never to forget these invisible manifestations because she felt that the day would come when man would understand himself by means of these unknown forces of his being.
