Stevenson, Dr Ian - Joseph accesses his dead uncle's perceptions

Type of Spiritual Experience

There are two ways in which this could be interpreted.  Either we view it as a ‘past life’ of the child in which case this is perception recall.  The alternative is that somehow the child has gained access to perceptions that are not its own – this is then a form of inter composer communication.  In the first instance it provides some small proof of reincarnation, if the second applies it does not.

One thing which appears to be common to a large number of the cases is that the perception log being accessed was of a person who died in a location which was relatively speaking not far away.  Many of the cases in the USA were either of close family members or people who lived nearby.  This increases the chances of a Bridge having been available.

Even the case of the Japanese soldiers described in observation 005021 fits this general theme, they died in the vicinity of the children, so the link is one of location.

This example from the USA is of a child called Joseph who had access to the perceptions of his uncle .....

A description of the experience

Tom Schröder – Old Souls [documenting the case histories of Dr Ian Stevenson]

The uncle, a high school drop out named David, had died when a tractor he was driving rolled over, crushing his chest.

“One time, he [Joseph] was sitting on the pavement at my folks house just staring up at the roof and he was watching” his mother said.

“He called my Mom [Joseph's grandma]  and he said 'Mom do you remember when Papa and I got up there and painted that roof red for you and it got all over my feet and legs?  Boy wasn't you mad'

Mom said 'Joseph?'.  He didn't answer.  She said 'My God, Jenny, that was David talking to me just now.  Because David painted the roof and got into one mess, got more paint on him than on the roof'

The thing was we painted that roof red in 1962, and since then it has been green.

Then we were going by Route 11 and he said 'When I was growing up, there was no houses there.  There used to be all woods we went hunting in'.  And another time we were going by the Farm Bureau and he said 'I remember that used to be a cornfield.  I used to help pick corn with Garth Clark and Stanley Floyd”
