Case 5: A missing relative 1932 (Mohuczy); Reported by M. Mohuczy. Source: Ossowiecki, 1933, pp.116-17. On 5 February 1932 a Mr. M. Mohuczy asked Ossowiecki for news of a missing relative. Ossowiecki used his recent letters as a psychometric link.
I saw him lying on a hospital bed, in white clothing. He looked very ill-yellow skin, mouth open, a big tooth sticking out on the left side. I told his relatives that he was alive, that he keeps thinking about returning home as soon as the illness passes. I also added that he had written asking them to send money for the journey and to pay off debts. After only a few days, on 10th February, I received a letter from Mr. Mohuczy.
"Dear Mr. Ossowiecki-In February I and my cousin Mr. Piotr Szawernowski asked you to find out what happened to his brother, Wlodzimierz, who left for the Belgian Congo in Africa and disappeared.... We have now in fact received a letter. Mr. S [the missing man] did suffer from a serious illness but is alive, although still very weak. He was in hospital and the doctors have recommended that he returns to Europe. The detail about a big tooth sticking out on the right side is absolutely accurate."
