Gather the tops of young nettles, wash well and to every pound of nettles add 1 quart of water. Put in a pot and boil for one hour. Then strain and to every pint of juice add one pound of sugar; boil for 30 minutes and when cold bottle up.
This syrup we make from a very old recipe and it is said to have great health giving powers as a blood purifier. Used with soda water it is a delicious drink.
