Background

A description of the experience

… last night I dreamt of an animal and you will laugh yourself silly when you find out which one.  I'm sure the dream didn't mean anything, but it is funny nevertheless…Let me set the scene of the dream…

In front of me is a wide grey road - tarmac but grey - like the old shale roads and on its surface hundreds and hundreds of stones - grey stones about the size of an egg.  In the background a series of conical hills, also grey, at least of a sort of grey ash like substance - they are very conical and not very high but a whole load of them are across the horizon.  It is a pleasant day - blue sky, no clouds, warm, so the overall mood despite the greyness of the scene is actually quite cheery.

In front of me a strange raggedy man.  I couldn't tell whether he was old or not, but he was following a rather zig zag course amongst all these stones - there were areas where there were no stones almost like a path had been cleared, but it wasn't a very clear path.  He was dressed in a brown overcoat, long.  I think the image of Fagin in Oliver Twist had been used as the basis for this chap as he seemed to have several layers of flowing robes and long hair.  Can't remember whether he was wearing a hat or not - I think he may have been.  He was going very quickly - with a great deal of purpose - striding out.

And beside him.............. small obedient and trotting along in the same rather haphazard way - a little poodle like dog.  Not a pure poodle, a bit of terrier too I think, but it was  brown and fluffy, little spindly legs.  All nerves and activity.  It was on a lead, but appeared to be quite happy walking next to the man, it kept on looking up at him for guidance.  And there the dream ends
