A description of the experience
Loperamide
is probably better known under brand names such as Lopex, Imodium , Dimor, Fortasec and Pepto Diarrhea Control. It acts on the opioid receptors in the large intestine. Normally it does not cross the blood brain barrier but used with quinidine, quinine [in tonic water] and even black pepper, loperamide might be able to cross the blood-brain barrier.
“It should however be noted that only quinidine with loperamide was found to produce respiratory depression, indicative of central opioid action”
