The Wisdom of Near Death Experiences - Dr Penny Sartori
My mum had called to let me know that my nan had passed away peacefully. It was July 2008 and Nan had been very ill for a month, at 95 she kept telling everyone that she had had enough and she was ready to go.
After my mum had called I didn't want to be alone so I met with a friend and we went for coffee. I was sitting quietly reading a magazine and I was very relaxed, although I was conscious that I was upset at my nan’s passing. I sensed a small ball of energy to my right, it was about a foot off the floor, and it was about the size of a grapefruit. Its energy was extremely strong (I am a reiki practitioner and psychic so I am used to sensing energy) and it slowly began to grow until it reached a certain point and stopped.
I couldn't concentrate on anything else while this was happening, and the only way I can explain it is that it was a human aura without the person at the centre of it . . . It was pure energy! I felt overwhelmed with love and happiness, and I knew instantly that it was my nan. In my mind I could see her turning cartwheels, she was so happy and saying to me, 'Don't be sad, I'm home!'
The energy stayed beside me for a short while then it slowly came towards me and sat within me. The energy of my hands was pulsating, and my hands felt huge. I had to go to the cafe toilet as I felt that I needed to be alone. My nan loved reiki and always asked me to give her some whenever I saw her; I felt this was an unspoken confirmation of her presence.
It’s hard to say how long this experience lasted but it would probably only have been for a few minutes, although it felt a lot longer. My nan was a strong believer in the afterlife and I felt this was her way of saying goodbye. It was a beautiful experience and I will never forget it.
My mum, aunt and uncle were with my nan when she passed and my mum said that just before my nan passed away the room became very still and peaceful, and she knew that my granddad was there . . .
