XII 1 Hymn to goddess Earth Part 1
Truth, wisdom, universal order, strength, respect,
creative energy, spiritual ecstasy,
sacrifice, support the Earth.
May this Earth, the mistress of that which was and shall be,
prepare for us a sacred future.
The Earth that has heights, and slopes, and great plains,
that supports the plants of manifold virtue,
free her from the pressure that comes from men,
may she spread out for us,
and give Herself to us.
