Introduction and description
An arrhythmia is a disorder of the heart rate (pulse) or heart rhythm, such as beating too fast (tachycardia), too slow (bradycardia), or irregularly.
Asystole colloquially known as flatline, is a state of no cardiac electrical activity, hence no contractions of the myocardium and no cardiac output.
