Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

A Kerass is the same concept as a Team.  Teams themselves can also be inter-connected with Totem Groups.

A ‘Team’ is collection of Higher spirits that have been grouped together for the purposes of achieving a challenge. Thus a team is a way of grouping resources to achieve the Great Work. .  The team may contain both ‘incarnate’ living people, animals and other creatures [a dog can be part of a team, as can a cat] and non incarnate spirits that can be spirit beings or Intelligences, or disembodied souls .   There may be members of the team that have never been incarnate.  This group is not a permanent set of spirits but a group in flux thus members will come and go depending on the task.  And this is why the meetings appear ‘synchronous’, why Jung’s concept of synchronicity occurs.  We meet for a purpose and are placed together not by chance at all.

A description of the experience

Patterns of Prophecy – Alan Vaughan

A Kerass, as devotees of Kurt Vonnegut's novels know, is a group of people who are unknowingly working together toward some common goal fostered by , larger cosmic influence. In Vonnegut's satire Cat's Cradle (and in the television drama "Between Time and Timbuktu") the concept of the Kerass is developed as a religious belief.
The way one learns that he is part of a Kerass is that meaningful coincidences happen between him and other members of the same Kerass.

There is also the danger that one might mistake a chance coincidence for a meaningful coincidence, and in that case, one is involved in a Granfaloon, or false Kerass.  Telling the Kerass from the Granfaloon would seem to be a high art.

If the term Kerass seems unlikely (actually it is the name of Vonnegut's next door neighbour), then one might prefer Carl Jung’s term synchronicity, or perhaps the zoologist Paul Kammerer's term seriality. As Arthur Koestler writes in his book The Roots of Coincidence:

"Both Kammerer and Jung postulate an a-causal principle which they consider of equal importance with causality in the destiny of man and of the world at large. The paradoxes of quantum physics may suggest that this postulate is no more preposterous than the theorems of modern science."

A Kerass is the same concept as a Team.  Teams themselves can also be inter-connected with Totem Groups.

A ‘Team’ is collection of Higher spirits that have been grouped together for the purposes of achieving a challenge.
