Background
Full of movement, relatively simple in comparison with some of his studies and of course especially in comparison with some finished paintings, this is a wonderful composition.
In some of his large paintings you often feel that a client has come up and said we have 20 feet of wall to fill and he has painted by the yard. Here is a composition and inspiration.
