Background
A description of the experience
This dream was almost a follow on from my apocalyptic dream.
It probably classifies as a lucid dream, but maybe a false awakening, because I dreamt I had woken up. I sat up in bed, everything - absolutely everything - was normal, the shape of the room, husband next to me asleep, but the curtains were open and in reality they should have been closed. The windows in our bedroom face north and south [obviously two windows] and it was light – the light of morning.
As I sat there looking out of the southerly window a cloud appeared. It was no normal cloud, shaped like a very long wide snake it was almost solid in appearance. Its colour was astounding, blues, deep deep blue/purples and mauves, all blue type colours. And then there was the noise, a roaring noise like the roaring of a train in a tunnel or the roar of a cyclone, a terrific noise of immense power.
It was coming towards the house. Just like the apocalypse dream there was no fear. I felt no compulsion in the dream to get up or hide, I just watched this angel of destruction come towards the house with the noise getting louder and louder. It made a beeline for the roof above our bedroom, but its flight path took it just over the roof. It went right over the house, the room went dark and all I could see out of both windows was this roaring mass of deepest darkest blue hurtling by. If it had been a real cloud and real winds, it would have ripped the roof off, but nothing happened, the room did not shake nor did the windows. Nothing, just this noise, this intense noise.
I watched it go past to the north until it appeared to be almost gone. But the snake turned back on itself and this time went lower. As it came towards the house it was clear it was going to hit the house side on. Again no fear, just fascination.
As it hit the wall outside the bedroom, the noise increased and suddenly the bedroom was full of the underside of this snake. My husband lay there asleep and did not stir, but about two feet above my head this cloud raced by, blue black as before. The ceiling was no longer visible, it filled the entire room at roughly head height.
First my hair was pulled on its end and sucked into the cloud. It is quite long at the moment – it needs cutting – so there was a fair amount of hair that stood up on end and was sucked in. But then I started to lift too. No fear, no pain, just the thought that this was it – annihilation in the angel of destruction.
I was hovering about two or three foot above the head, wind streaming past me, when suddenly there was a sort of creaking crack and I actually woke up. I was sitting up in bed, no noise, complete quiet, no cloud, everything back to normal and the curtains were closed. My husband had woken up and needed to go to the loo, it was his getting up from the bed that had actually woken me up.
I sat there stunned. I still wasn’t sure whether I was having a dream or not. But the predominant feeling was one of deep disappointment.
I cannot explain why, I think I must have wanted to be annihilated by the power of that vision of destruction.
