I am another one who agrees with herd immunity (out here you have to be imunised to go to school, otherwise no school will take you, except if there are very valid medical reasons). To my mind it is not only protecting your own child but protecting the population who are unable to be vaccinated for whatever reason....either be it immunity problems or even too young for the jab.

I had measles when I was a child and I remember it vividly despite being only around 6 - it was horrendous and I ended up hallucinating apparantly (ants were coming to get me - this I don't remember) but it has left me with partial deafness in one ear.
