Images of Paradise in the NDE 02
Type of Spiritual Experience
Some people in NDEs go to a sort of ‘holding area’. It tends to be about as close as possible to their idea of paradise - often characterised by being a place of great beauty, with brilliantly glowing colours, apparently warm and often with other worldly but wonderful music.
Often it is a green place, with lush grass and thousands of flowers, with brilliant blue sky and wooded, warm, no houses, the occasional palace or temple, sometimes mountains or hills, occasionally a gentle warm wind. It is a virtual world constructed for us - a holding area with which we would be familiar - a sort of virtual familiar world with which we can identify and feel the most at home.

A description of the experience
Life at Death – Dr Kenneth Ring
I was in a field, a large empty field and it had high, golden grass that was very soft, so bright. And my pain was gone and it was quiet, but it wasn't a morbid quiet, it was a peaceful quiet. Afterwards I said to Doctor XXX 'Why did you bring me back?'.
I didn't want to come back. I was really very happy in that place, wherever it was.
The field was soft, silky, very brilliant gold [the light was] bright but restful. The grass swayed. It was very peaceful, very quiet. The grass was so outstandingly beautiful that I will never forget it
