Telekinesis related to death event
12-th case. - In the following case, we see the telekinetic phenomenon on a big pendulum clock. I find it in the Proceedings of the American S.P.R. (1885-1889, page 433). The names of the persons involved are not published, but are known to the Society's directors.
Miss M. O. A. sent this account on February 8, 1888:
On one night last autumn I had a strange and curious dream that, coincidentally, made a deep impression on me. I dreamt that my maternal uncle was dead, that I had been to Brooklyn to attend the funeral, and that I was saddened to arrive too late; the ceremony was over and the body was no longer at home. In the dream I saw my aunt and my cousins, but I didn't have time to talk with them, having been woken up by a very strong blow, like a heavy body that would have fallen on the ground. And it wasn't part of the dream; it was a real fact, although I couldn't immediately realize the cause of such a crash. The next morning I told my friends about my dream and kept the feeling that I would not be long in getting bad news. In the meantime, I soon realized that the noise heard during the night had been generated by the fall of the large pendulum of the clock in the next living room.
Two days passed without news, on the morning of the third day, the newspapers announced the death of my father's uncle, not the mother's - death that had taken place on the very night of the dream. It was too late to go to the funeral. For reasons I don't know, the sad news had not been communicated to me; but this dream had informed me, perhaps, at the very hour of death.
The sister of the percipient, Mrs. Isabelle A., confirmed this event in the following terms:
I was at my sister's house and I remember perfectly that she told me about her dream, wondering whether I had heard a loud noise during the night, like that of a very heavy object falling to the ground....
Mrs. Élisabeth B. H. reports:
When she woke up, Miss A... told me about the dream she just had had in connection with her uncle's death. As for the noise produced that night by the fall of the clock pendulum, I heard it too.
