A description of the experience

The Art of Dying – Drs Peter and Elizabeth Fenwick

My aunt and myself for many years had a discussion about whether there is life after death. She did not believe there is Iife after death, but I did. In the 1970s she was diagnosed with cancer of the bladder which quickly spread to other parts of her body, and she was taken in to the Royal Marsden Hospital. Just before we were going on holiday my father, mother, my uncle and aunt and myself visited her.

We were talking quite casually when all of a sudden she said, 'I saw Mum last night and she said, "Why don’t you come and join me and the rest of the family?'

I left the room while they all continued to talk. All of a sudden my uncle came into the room and told me that my aunt wanted to see me. When I came into the room she looked at me and said, 'Bert, you were right all along.' We all left, and the following day she died. Strange, don't you think?
