The Art of Dying – Dr Peter and Elizabeth Fenwick
The following account describes an unexpected burst of lucidity just before death:
Suddenly a cool breeze came through the window, causing the long voile curtain to flutter upwards quite noticeably. Simultaneously, the look of my Dad's face changed - where it had been sunken, it was now full and the colour brighter than normal. Then Dad spoke, something that was so difficult for him, but his voice was strong and he spoke quite clearly and normally. He said, 'Yes, Mum, I understand. Yes, Mum, I'll do that Mum. All right, Mum.' He did not open his eyes at all.
