Background
Dr Shafica Karagulla, born in the Lebanon but whose research took her to the USA and the UK, was a neuro-psychiatrist who spent eight years researching ordinary people who appeared to have extraordinary abilities. She started off being a skeptic as most scientists are [including me] but over time the evidence seemed overwhelming and she set up a research project to find out more. What brought her into the area was a book about Edgar Cayce, what kept her going was an open mind and an insatiable curiosity. Where she is remarkable is that she had no experiences of her own to confirm her eventual conclusions, but like all the very best scientists forgot her own life and concentrated on the observations and evidence.
In this observation we can see the use of the envelope as the bridge. The scientists presumably licked the envelope containing the questions and provided the bridge. The sound proof chamber was a little pointless, and irrelevant despite Dr Karagulla's comment, but adds a nice touch of drama to the experiment.
What is more important in this observation is that it shows that for inter composer communication to work, the composers must co-operate. When a person goes to a paid demonstration of the ability to read perceptions via bridges, they tend to believe it will work and their composers then fully co-operate, but a scientist is by definition pretty left brained, with a composer that spends most of its time asleep [like Alice’s Red King] and no inclination to want it to work. This is why believing is so important.
No composer co-operates without your personality and will’s ‘consent’, as such belief is all important. What is rather nice about this is that the Reverend Wales appears to have the support of at least some of them and managed it subconsciously despite their scepticism

Breakthrough to Creativity – Dr Shafica Karagulla
Reverend Wales is a sensitive who answers questions at public meetings in the same manner as the "Answer Man." [see observation 004200] . His demonstrations are very successful. He is able to read the question placed in a sealed envelope very accurately as to its main idea and often word for word.
On one occasion a group of scientists .. asked Rev. Wales to cooperate with some experiments which they wished to try out. Among other things they placed him in a sound proof chamber. He showed good performance in these experiments, far above the law of averages, but he was not accurate every time. He did not perform as well as was customary with a friendly audience or group.
Whether the sound proof chamber was disturbing to him or whether the skeptical attitude of the scientists made him tense is not evident. Even though his performance did not come up to his usual audience performance the scientists were impressed. They admitted that they were unable to explain it within the framework of normal sense perception.
