Background
This general shape can be the shape of a torc, in some cases it is representing the ouroboros or we can take it literally as being an entrance into, for example, the tunnel leading into a barrow. In the latter case it is a signpost when found on a stone indicating that a barrow is to be found by following the instructions. Here we believe the context is important, as a torc, when it is a torc, is a torc!!
