A description of the experience
The Mediumship of Attila von Szalay – Raymond Bayless [from Experiences of a Psychical Researcher]
On one occasion (I am not mentioning these events in any chronological order) Mr. Smith, Mr. von Szalay, and I were sitting in his darkened living room in an impromptu sitting when a splendid spontaneous display of psychical lights occurred.
In spite of the fact that the lights in the room had been put out, there was sufficient light coming into the room from an outside streetlight for me to see Mr. von Szalay sitting in his chair, upright with his hands in his lap. As I sat idly looking at him, I saw a brilliant flash of blue-white light under his chair. It was so very bright that I could discern the pattern of the rug by its illumination.
My interest aroused, I continued to watch him, and again there was a flash of the same blue-white light. He in no way moved when the incidents took place. Mr. Smith also saw the mysterious light flashes, which certainly confirmed their objectivity, and we both consider that the incident represented a good example of spontaneous manifestations.
