A description of the experience

Spirit Identity – William Stainton Moses

Dr Speer and I, then on an excursion in the North of Ireland, visited an old disused burying ground at Garrison.  There were in it some curious Runic crosses, of which I wanted some sketches.  We remained a considerable time and were greatly shocked at the skulls and bones that we found lying about in all directions.

The result of that visit was an uncanny noise in my bedroom, which was separated from Dr Speer’s only by a thin partition, that I know he entertains a lively remembrance of the visit to that graveyard.  He describes the sounds as utterly destructive of sleep and was much aggravated to find, on coming into my room, that I was slumbering peacefully though it all.

The source of the experience

Stainton-moses, William
