Wood release

In Kishimoto’s manga series, Wood Release  is a kekkei genkai of the Senju Clan.

By combining ‘earth’ and ‘water’-based energy, the Ninja [Ninjutsu and Ninpo] can produce trees or wooden objects from any surface. 

The objects created with the Wood Release vary and range from a simple wall to a functioning copy of the user.

This is fiction.

But they are matched by Shinto legend and those legends match legends found in Greek myth.  Daphne was turned into a bush.

And symbolically as we can see using the Chinese symbol system it has some very interesting connotations.
