Symbols - What does heaven look like

Mnemosyne by Rossetti

In the Greek system whereby functions or systems of the universe are given a persona, Mnemosyne was the personification of memory.

She was a titaness and the mother of the Muses by Zeus.

This Titan plus the Muses give humans their ability to express themselves – the power of imagination and creativity, as we can call on memory in order to create and to be inventive and artistic.

The personification also fitted in to a very sophisticated set of other functions.
