Some science behind the scenes
Wright spirometer
Spirometry is a painless study of air volume and flow rate in the lungs. It is frequently used to evaluate lung function in people with diseases such as asthma or cystic fibrosis. In our context it can also give a fairly accurate assessment of how much ‘over breathing’, if any, is taking place. Normal resting minute volume is about 6 litres, but if the person manages around 30, clearly over breathing is taking place.
