Principally, though not exclusively, mental healing, with the objective of completing the spiritual path
Ādityas (Sanskrit: आदित्य,), meaning "of Aditi", refers to the offspring of Aditi. Aditya is used in the singular to mean the Sun God, Surya.
The Marutas (Sanskrit: मरुत), are storm deities. The number of Marutas varies from 27 to sixty). They are in this context, the gods of purification or purgatory, and as such are personified as being armed with golden weapons i.e. lightning and thunderbolts, and roaring like lions, as residing in the north, as riding in golden chariots drawn by ruddy horses.
A description of the experience
Samavedas – Book 04 Chapter 01, XXIII Soma Pavamana
May we, with lndra and the Gods to aid us,
bring these existing worlds to full completion!
Our sacrifice, our bodies, and our offspring,
let lndra with the Adityas form and finish!
With the Adityas, with the band of Maruts,
let lndra send us medicines to heal us!
