Background
A description of the experience
How perfect
Quiet
How softly it rains on the roofs of the city
How perfect all things are
Now, the two of us
Waking up in a royal bed (king, queen!) by a canal side window
A man and a woman
Who longed for each other.
This is my gift to you.
Now at dawn you must be attentive
The tilt of a head, a hand with a comb, two faces in the mirror
Are only forever like this once
Even if always remembered.
So watch what is, though it fades away
Be grateful every moment for your being.
Let that little canal with its greeny slick water
Under the light of canal side trees
In the pearl grey light, under a summer drizzle
Remain as it was when we walked by it
And the street with the glass and curio shops
Which this love of ours suddenly transformed
